Purpose and goal
Protection of existing and new IP is of high importance for the continued development and growth of the company. This is related to competitiveness but is also important in relation to ensuring future investments. We are planning to implement a process for the analysis of our know-how, the existing and what will be developed over time. This to ensure that secrecy is kept and that the company will have access to core intellectual property.
Expected results and effects
The expected result is a defined IP strategy that clarifies how different kinds of know-how shall be treated within the company and in relation to customers and partners. The company is in many cases depending on partners for the development of different applications for our unique material. These partners can be research institutes or customers. We are planning to prepare a strategy for how these joint developments shall be formalized to ensure our access to the results. A standardized Joint Development Agreement will be prepared where the rights to IP will be clearly defined.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be implemented in three steps; Inventory of intellectual property Analysis of our market Development of IP strategy We will during the inventory mainly focus on unprotected assets that could be transferred into protected IP to strengthen the company’s position towards customers and investors. Based on the inventory a will be developed regarding how to handle trade secrets, what should be patent protected and what we can let customers and partners develop and possibly protect.
