Purpose and goal

1) Collection of actors: SWEbeams has been inclusive with over 330 participants from all sectors and regions. We have achieved good acceptance for the project in the target groups concerned. (2) The compilation of the actors´ needs and plans for ESS and MAX IV: Recurring documentation of results has been the basis for the proposed recommendations. (3) Proposal on how the collaboration and dialogue between the actors is best organised: Embedded in recommendations, e.g. on the user association, development of the science park function, competence building and research excellence.

Expected results and effects

(SWEbeams´ results consist of 36 recommendations and action proposals on how the Government´s national strategy for ESS can be translated into concrete action. The recommendations form the basis for responsible authorities at the national and regional level for how to stimulate stakeholders with an interest in ESS, MAX IV and their research and innovation arena.

Planned approach and implementation

SWEbeam´s work has involved people from academia, research institutes, business, public organizations, research funding agencies and the Government Offices. The key activities of the work include open workshops, focused meetings, study visits, expert interviews. Altogether, more than 330 people have contributed to the work´s knowledge and information base. They have been from all sectors of society and a large number of subject areas, geographies, company sizes and various roles in each organization have been represented.
