Reference number
Coordinator Karolinska Institutet - Institutet för miljömedicin
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 510 000
Project duration October 2018 - December 2021
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to get more Swedes to apply for funding in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe in the field of working life. This goal was met relatively well when we, by searching the EU databases, identified more projects related to the area of working life than in previous years. In our survey to the project´s network, we also saw a high participation and a positive attitude to apply in the future

Expected results and effects

We identified 6 projects with a strong connection to the working life area. Our survey also showed that there are probably even more funded projects. 28% in our survey had applied for funding from the EU during the project period 2019-2021. 16 researchers reported that they were granted funding from the EU during the years 2019-2021. Horizon 2020 / Horizon Europe was most common. 15 people (23%) that SWOSH activities motivated them to apply for EU funding in the future.

Planned approach and implementation

The implementation had to be changed several times due to Covid. We made a transition to asynchronous information dissemination instead of personal meetings. We also had a number of seminars via zoom. It has been difficult to know how strong the causal link is between the project´s activities and the outcome, but on the whole we feel that the activities have been appreciated and that awareness of EU funding has increased. During this period, several groups have also taken the step out into Europe.
