Purpose and goal
The project´s aims and objectives, to build a sustainability assessment methodology and to create knowledge which can form a base for future research and development projects, have been met.
Results and expected effects
The results of the project are: 1. An assessment methodology that can evaluate the sustainability impact of a proposal or completed project, to support future research to a positive impact on sustainability 2. An increased expertise in the analysis of the environmental impact of metals, especially toxicity effects, has been developed, pointing out the direction for future research 3. Needs and opportunities regarding tools for using LCA results have been identified, which can contribute to decreased environmental impact in the development of new materials, processes and products
Approach and implementation
The project was conducted in close cooperation with industry through interviews, literature studies and workshops. The extensive involvement of the industrial companies, together with the research group´s expertise has made it possible for a relatively small budget to achieve significant results
