Reference number
Coordinator PARANS SOLAR LIGHTING AB (PUBL) - Parans Solar Lighting AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 2 000 000
Project duration June 2013 - March 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal was to explore the possibilities to convey sunlight deep into buildings and create a solution that could take a general concept regarding adding sunlight for an entire building - including buildings with up to 20 levels. Parans are, after this project, fully confident and will this this further by hiring and developing an entirely new product that will meet these objectives.

Results and expected effects

The effect of the project is that, with the new knowledge and experience, Parans now invests in developing a new product and deepen the relationship with eg. fiberoptic developers to make sure that the specific needs that full spectrum sunlight have on fiber optic cables are regarded. The effect is also that we now, after discussion with anything from architects and developers to light and energy consultants and distributors are fully confident that we are developing something that are requested and not only technically possible.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried through with Parans as project managers but have included research and development partners both in Sweden, the US, Germany, France, Belgium and Spain. This required good communication and also a lot of traveling. The projects steps was well defined and lead to clear milestones why determining if time frames and results could be handled effectively and that changes needed could be discussed and proposed in time. Due to un expectedly long deliverytimes for specific components the project had to be prolonged with three months and the project slightly modified.
