Reference number
Coordinator Uppsala universitet - Universitetsledningen
Funding from Vinnova SEK 8 000 000
Project duration December 2013 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the Project was to, via new tools and models, develop, broaden and deepening, collaboration at UU and to increase the engagement of the management in strategic collaborations. Verification for Collaboration (VFS) has been introduced and successfully developed in collaboration with the universities in Lund, Linköping and at KI. All four universities recommend VFS as a permanent national tool. Strategic partnerships has been introduced as a collaboration model at UU and a collaboration advisory group at the management level has been established.

Results and expected effects

Verification for Collaboration has been established as a new tool to initiate concrete, practical collaborations innvolving all academic scientific disciplines and a broad spectrum of collaborating organizations. Hopefully will the results and experiences of VFS at the four universities result in a national tool (compare with VFT) to initiate pratical collaborations. Strategic collaborations as a model has both by content and organization been strengthened at UU.

Approach and implementation

The project has been organized and executed according to a traditional project working model with a project working team and a steering group at the mangement level. VFS has been executed through simultaneous calls at the four universities. Evaluations of applications were made by the working teams and approvals were formerly decided by steering committees and management. Strategic partnership agreements were signed by the respective top management and were based on already ongoing joint projects that can be broadened and deepened via the formalised partnership.
