Important results from the project
The aim with the project is to carry out a holistic analyses of the noise and vibrations that exists onboard a ship, and also study the radiated noise. The objective is to create a green ship with minimum of noise and vibrations.
Expected long term effects
The effect of this project is expected to be that the noise and vibrations onboard new ships will be reduced, and also that the radiated noise in harbors and close the fairways will be improved. The result will be an improved environmental situation in both cases.
Approach and implementation
The project consists of 6 WorkPackages (WP), where SSPA are involved in all except WP1 which concerns mapping of existing rules. In WP2 a collection of existing noise measurements will take place as well as new measurements onboard and outside ships. WP3, that SSPA leads, is dealing with different solution to minimize noise and vibrations, and WP4 aims at calculating the radiation of this noise. In WP 5 and 6 the results will be summarized and disseminated.
