SoSSUM Core: System-of-Systems for Smart Urban Mobility Core activities

Reference number
Coordinator RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB - RISE SICS, Kista
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 000 000
Project duration October 2018 - September 2019
Status Completed
End-of-project report 2018-03214.pdf(pdf, 750 kB) (In Swedish)

Purpose and goal

The original goal of this project was to ensure that the strategic initiative SoSSUM´s overall aim to build knowledge about urban mobility and systems-of-systems would be achieved, by providing coordinating and knowledge-building activities. Since the project was granted significantly lower funding than applied for, and for a shorter period, these original goals could only be met to a lesser extent.

Expected results and effects

The most important concrete results are workshops on business models and financing, and on architecture, for SoS; an update of state-of-the-art; mapping of the ongoing R&D projects in the initiative and identification of knowledge gaps; as well as a national workshop on SoS.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been conducted in four main activities: (1) Program management; (2) Strategy; (3) Knowledge synthesis; and (4) Meeting places. This is in line with the original plan, but the content of each part has been greatly reduced to match the allocated budget. This reduction has meant that the parties have not felt that the project meets their expectations, and it has been difficult to find good roles and commitment for each one.
