Important results from the project
The consortium has investigated needs for development of the organisational ability to innovate, to meet growing challenges. Social innovation has been identified as a method for a project, in cooperation with external organisations and inhabitants. A consortium of municipalities has been formed to run the planned project.
Expected long term effects
The consortium has developed a joint project idea, based on social innovation with four areas, to strenghten the ability to innovate in the municipal organisations. Train leaders in leading innovation. Involve external organisations and inhabitants in open innovation processes. Support for social innovators. Cooperation among the municipalities for mutual learning and activities. Next step is to adjust the project idea to local conditions.
Approach and implementation
The project has involved about 150 people in an distance and time independent ideasystem, from municipalities, associations, companies and individual inhabitants, in forming the project idea.A process leader and expert in social innovation has been involved during analysis of needs and work shops. This has resulted in a strong consortium and an innovative projekt idea. The participation of science parks has resulted in expanding the project idea to involve inkubation of social innovations.
