Important results from the project

Our mission was to create the base for an organization that engage unemployed migrants. This shall be the ground for their self maintenance. The tool is to use their own skills in food, workmanship and culture. We have learned and understood what all this ask for in a good organization. The support to these people need to go from idea to real experience that can be sold as a give away gift. 50 possibilities were listed and talked to, over 20 tested and seven came out as a real offer and gift.

Expected long term effects

We thought there would be some participants that should come all the way to a start with their own maintenance. None come that far, since there is a to wide gap between what a migrant is able to do on “their own” and what the market ask for in deliverance. Many of our participants have really strong skills, and they are possible to sell as gifts on the market. But to go all the way on the market, they all need more support.

Approach and implementation

We did expect a greater deal of readiness, and automatic from our participants in their skills, that we should present as gifts. We did underestimate the need for time in preparation everybody needed. Not only the participiants, also we needed more time to collect these people, work with them, marketing, sales and to communicate the gifts. To get there, we need to define every ones competence and special need there is in this. Then it would be possible to strengthen their entpreneurship.
