Important results from the project
The purpose is to study the following aspects: 1. The development of the security market, driving forces and emerging markets. 2. Expectations from the Security Link partners, both national and international aspects. 3. The level of maturity of security as a research area 4. To define the scope of the security domain. 5. The need and goals for marketing Security Link, and means to increase its visibility
Expected long term effects
The work has resulted in three reports: 1. A strategy document to establish and describe long term goals for Security Link, and its future role. 2. A survey of the security domain, that summarizes existing global links and maps the security domain wrt. research, needs and innovations. 3. A market analysis (in collaboration with external firm), where different limitations of the security domain have been investigated, in order to map existing and new markets, and predict the growth.
Approach and implementation
The work has been performed by a core group, but has involved major part of the Security Link environment through interviews with research groups and companies. The progress has been monitored by a continuous dialog with the steering group and industrial reference board. None of the results of this work has been seen as controversial, and it was relatively easy to get a broad consensus of the results.
