Important results from the project
The project concerned a further development of the existing system for sunlight illumination by usage of a modified light distribution. The goal is to spread the incoming sunlight better and to achieve a better resemblance to ordinary indoor lighting. The light source could then be use both as work- and ambient lighting. Adding a complement component with a better light distribution makes it easier to replace ordinary artificial light and thus increases the market share.
Expected long term effects
A sunlight illumination system with a better light distribution has a much large range of application. If it is combined with longer range a much larger market can be reached. This will make it possible to decrease the energy consumption and improve the indoor climate.
Approach and implementation
The project has been a collaboration between Parans, Glafo and Uppsala University. A market analyse has been performed. A first requirements specification for the light distribution has been formulated and a new application is under development.
