Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to clarify the needs and challenges of the mining and steel industry regarding the ability to secure future skills and competences. This was partly done to enable the trade and employers’ organizations and the companies to prioritize their future investments. The aim of the project was to create a roadmap for the provision of future competences and skills that is well worked through and established. The created roadmap is well established by the industries, clear and fulfills the aim and purpose of the project fully.
Expected long term effects
The project has created a roadmap that is expected to form the basis for actions and initiatives and will be a future reference document that shows how the various initiatives synchronizes. The roadmap is expected to be used to show what reforms and actions the mining and steel industry considers as important and prioritized.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out by focusing on a number of workshops, interviews and surveys in which mining and steel companies have been deeply involved. Authorities and other relevant organizations have also been involved in the work generating a deeper knowledge and understanding resulting in a holistic view of the industry´s challenges and needs.
