Results and expected effects

The outcome is that we have made good progress in the process regarding WHY and WHAT an SIO for the tourism & hospitality industry should be initiated. The process have had an positive impact on the discussions on research and innovation issues both within industry organizations in academia.

Approach and implementation

Personal interviews were conducted with 30 relevant individuals within the business, academia and the public sector. Two minor (7-13 people) workshops, one with tourism managers in the regions and the other with public agencies have been implemented. A larg workshop with industry leaders (160 participants) and presentation of the agenda at TUR for appr. 120 people, mainly from the public sector. What we still lack in this phase of the process is the treatment of HOW, ie a realistic and well-established implementation plan.
