Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to organize two international conferences on women´s entrepreneurship. Diana International Research Conference is research-oriented, and the, the Global Symposium on Women´s Entrepreneurship (GSWE) had a broader approach. They were held June 15 to 18, 2014 in Stockholm. The goal was that we would have between 190-240 participants from at least 20 countries. The result was 248 participants from 35 countries.
Expected long term effects
Participants in the two conferences were very satisfied. 98% of participants at the research conference and 94% of participants at GSWE thought the conference as a whole was excellent/good. The networking opportunities were highly rated as 100% and 92% of the participants answered excellent/good. GSWE brought together a mix of researchers, entrepreneurs, advisors, policy actors and investors. This stimulated an exchange of experiences between the participants from the different groups. 92% of participants in GSWE felt that they learned something new that they would use in future.
Approach and implementation
To have the two conferences back to back was by design to allow more researchers to participate in the Global Symposium on Women´s Entrepreneurship. Diana International Research Conference was organized in close collaboration with the group of leading scholars whom have been involved with ESBRI to build the international network focusing on women´s entrepreneurship since early 2001. The 2014 GSWE was developed on the basis on the symposium the ESBRI initiated and organized in 2012. All the practical arrangements for the two conferences was organized by ESBRI
