Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to study the whole chain from data collection in the car to analysis and visualization of the collected data. The goal was to find solutions that enables data collection from customer cars and developing analytical methods to create a greater understanding of how the vehicle functionality is used in a real environment. The goal has essentially been fulfilled even if they have not reached the original ambition. The largest deviation is that the whole has not been able to be linked together in the way that it was originally meant for each use case.

Expected results and effects

Main results of the project: - Development of a cost-effective concept for data collection in the car. - Methods for analysis of DUX use case, distraction and user journeys. - Analysis and visualization of data collection from the device for Bluetooth connectivity. - Benchmark and concept of the HMI for privacy settings. Effects of the project: - Introduction of a new attribute area for Information Security & Privacy - Contribution in various initiatives to increase knowledge in the field and open up for possible collaborations.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been divided into three Work Packages: 1. Use Cases and integrity analysis, 2. System design and 3. Methods for analysis and visualization. The Use Cases in WP1 has been the basis for the further work on the system design and analysis. The work WP 3 has mainly been done with external resources, where VCC taken help of the Fraunhofer Chalmers Research Centre for development of analytical methods.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
