Project duration May 2016 - November 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal was to generate a customer and marketing plan with pricing and payment models for different customer segments by gathering data from potential customers to examine their needs, demands and willingness to pay. We mainly investigated the needs within the patent domain through numerous meetings which mapped the needs and potential problems which then formed the basis for the development of a business plan. The market researches showed that MiNDiGOs solution also had the potential to successfully be applied in other domains such as education, smart cities and law.

Expected results and effects

The results showed that there was interest and willingness to pay for a more cognitively adapted digital data visualisation of complex information. To streamline the work of patent offices is always desirable, and what also emerged was that a kind of B2B solution against companies with much IP can be beneficial. Business and pricing model was developed in relation to how customers pay for their solutions today but with innovation in the process to make the offer attractive. A number of leads, primarily in patents, education and law, was created by the project.

Planned approach and implementation

The project started with a market analysis and numerous interviews with potential customers (primarily patents but also in education, law, and smart cities) were conducted in order to collect specific customer data. These were held both in and outside of Sweden to create a global picture of needs and problems. A business plan was developed with different payment models for customer segments, and was continuously updated along the underlying data generated during the project. An international PCT application was also submitted during the project period in order to protect valuable IP.
