Reference number
Coordinator Swerea IVF AB - Avdelningen för Tillverkning
Funding from Vinnova SEK 250 000
Project duration November 2016 - March 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose and goal of the innovation competition were to provide systems and methods for powder coating of carbon fiber composites giving thin and even layers, cured at low temperature or cured by other methods than temperature increase, recyclable and with a high transmission rate. The aim for the planning phase of the innovation competition was to plan and prepare for the realization of the innovation competition.

Expected results and effects

During the planning phase of the innovation competition the fundamentals of the project were changed. Some initial tests made by the project owner showed more promising results to a greater extent than expected. This resulted in the fact that the problem formulation was no longer suitable for an innovation competition. This was also the reason not to continue to an implementation phase of the innovation competition. However, the results of the planning phase of the project will be of great benefit for the project participant’s continued work within the field.

Planned approach and implementation

A strong project consortium made it possible for the participants to methodically develop a plan for the innovation competition. This included preparation of proposals for suitable competition set up and development of communication plan including identification of suitable communication channels. The development of a competition platform and to identify an appropriate reward for the winner of the competition was started but not completed before the decision not to proceed with the application for step 2 (implementation) was taken.
