Purpose and goal
In 2015 Vinnova initiated a project which was based on five research led networks. The focus was on an increased ability for innovation i helath care and in hospitals. The networks were useful as arenas for learning and innovation. The researchers could support a reflective learning process among the participants. Local experiences could be analysed in a broader context. The national seminars for the leaders of the networks were important for support and in getting a more theoretical understanding.
Expected results and effects
The participants (from different hospitals) were satisfied with the network meetings and the support from the researcher - both during and after the meetings. The most important results were related to the developmental work the participants were involved in and their own understanding of it. They felt more secure in their work and could use their new knowledge. A weakness was the absence of top management in the developmental work and in the outcomes of the networks.
Planned approach and implementation
Each of the five networks had 4-5 meetings. These meetings often consisted of a presentation by a researcher, a practical example and a joint discussion. The combination of theory with practice made it possible to deepen the analysis.
