Important results from the project
The main goal of maintaining and further anchoring the consortium´s core group has been met, and the group is now more clearly organized and better prepared in the respective partner organizations. The goal of expanding the consortium and initiating a KIC-application has been delayed as a result of the significant delays in the MFF-negotiations and consequently the EIT SIA. Instead, the project has focused on raising awareness of Urban Mobility and this goal has largely been met even if the SIA is still not set, Urban Mobility is now more highly prioritized than it was a year ago.
Expected long term effects
The outcome of the project has been a strong and more clearly organized European group led by Chalmers, prepared to commit to a KIC-application. The project has also led to an enhanced vision for the consortium, expanding it from the strong foundation of transport and vehicle technology to a holistic capacity to address on Urban Mobility. Finally, the project has led to clear Parliament support for Urban Mobility, and high visibility and attractiveness of the theme among key European players. Even if it has not resulted in a KIC-application, it has built a strong position for a coming call.
Approach and implementation
During the project, the focus has been on using the existing network to prepare a KIC-application and raise the priority of the Urban Mobility theme. The consortium has not been added to, but the interfaces to decision makers and politicians have been expanded. This approach was motivated by the need for a clear and easy to coordinate group, and has been successful in that Urban Mobility now is much higher on the agenda than at project start, while the group has maintained a joint vision. At the same time this means that significant work remains in expanding the consortium into a KIC.
