Pilot project - Life science incubation

Reference number
Coordinator Uppsala Innovation Centre AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 4 258 179
Project duration December 2017 - February 2021
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project has met the initial goals at several levels described above. Furthermore, the project has led to the life science incubators being able to agree on a number of key issues and also been an important sounding board actors The co-operation between the incubators has been formalized and a group with a chairman and minuted meetings has been formed. This has also resulted in several incubators getting in touch and wanting to participate in the collaboration. In order to take the next step, a further formalization through the formation of a non-profit association is discussed.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** It is difficult to be able to point out the direct effect of the project on the growth of life science start-ups after such a short time. In fact, more than 80 companies participated in the first Swedish investor meeting, that more than 50 companies took part in the content on the training platform, which is a sign that the platform has filled - and continues to fill - an important function. Important industry-specific information is made available to the companies and is continuously updated by our partners.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The key to the project´s success has been a strong commitment from the life science incubators. By showing that the activities in the platform complement the incubators´ range and do not compete with them, everyone has realized the advantage of actively participating and influencing the platform´s content.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
