Status Completed

Important results from the project

The project has shown the interest from water operators to create a pilot plant, which will be a neutral platform, where stakeholders (network owners, material and product manufacturers, government agencies, industry organizations, research actors, etc.) can meet with common goals and purposes, and the future products and materials can be developed, based on real needs and through the interaction between the different actors. The project has demonstrated the need and potential of the outlined test bed, interest from stakeholders and the opportunity to develop it.

Expected long term effects

The pilot plant will function as a neutral meeting place and a link between network operators, producers, R & D actors and authorities where the needs of, for example, network operators and producers meet. The pilot plant is characterized by easy accessibility and transparency, as well as contributing to physical meetings where competence is spread and research needs are coordinated. The pilot plant should be a leading model in Europe for proactive collaboration for the development of innovative, demand-based products for water and sewage installations

Approach and implementation

Analyzes of needs and business intelligence have been carried out according to the project plan. The result has shown that there is a great need for water operators to create a pilot plant according to the concept outlined in the application. The facilities initially connected to the test bed have been specified. An overview plan has been developed for further work and an original actor constellation in order to put into operation a first version of the pilot plant is formed. The pilot plant will be planned, operated and administered by RISE and Swerea KIMAB in collaboration.
