Purpose and goal
1: Mobilize stakeholders in the PiiA area. Powerful participation from process industries, supplier companies and academia. 2: Organization. A framework decided at the Annual General Meeting 2015 for the management of PiiA. A management team based on regional innovation Environments. 3: Offerings. In the shape of PiiA Projects: project structure and regular calls, PiiA Analysis: global and branch analyzes, PiiA Research: postdoc program and research network, PiiA Academy: brokerage and a network for skills development. 4: Good examples in projects and methods.
Expected results and effects
1: Activity goals: More than 130 RDI projects through 8 calls and projects. 380 individual project partners. Equal distribution between different stakeholders. Activities conducted nationally. 2: Distribution goals. Industry co-funding ~ 50% and + Academy´s co-funding. Project participation includes over 1,000 people. 3: Communication goals. Annual PiiA Summit, web and well-known among stakeholders. 4: Result goals. After 3 years of several FUI projects in progress, concrete results found in industries, visible in media. 5: Effect goals. Effect logic updated 2016.
Planned approach and implementation
PiiA has an industry-led board and management team from regional innovation environments. Employees of PiiA, at the host organization SICS Västerås, are Program Manager (100%), Communicator (50%) and Deputy Program Manager (50-75%). In addition, people have been hired from the regional environments in projects and assignments, based on needs and skills. The work was conducted in the strategic activities PiiA Projects, Analysis, Research and Academy (Innovation). All activities, apart from Projects, distributed with national responsibility to the regional environment.
