Purpose and goal
The main objective of the project is to increase the competence of the surface characterization at the Sweden´s national standards laboratory for length. The project is the second part of doctoral studies and the aim is that this work will lead to Olena Flys doctoral defense. This work includes increasing the knowledge of the interaction between surfaces and measurement technology in characterizing surface topographic properties and improving the technical capacity of the national standards laboratory for length to support the manufacturing industry´s characterization needs.
Expected results and effects
The project is expected to deliver input to national and international standards and directives as well as useful "guidelines" in the area. The project results will facilitate further development of standards in new sectors with high demands for quality assured measurement, such as strength of materials and safety with focus on additive manufactured objects. Another outcome of the project is Olena Flys dissertation.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be carried out by Olena Flys. The dissertation defense will be performed by the end of 2019.
