Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project was to build a demonstration platform and meet customer requirements around flexible automation. The end goal with the platform, as defined, is to easy the automation process by avoiding robot programming and manufacturing fixtures and instead rely on the CAD-flow that is already a part of the product development process. The flexible automation is combined with automatic quality control in a system that is running as Proof of Concept on multiple industry actors.
Expected results and effects
Unibap’s platform, as created during the perfect view project, is a first step towards creating solutions for flexible automation to aid the large portion of small/middle size enterprises where solution for automation is still too expensive to implement. By automating the automation small or even single series production is made possible in an economical way.
Planned approach and implementation
The project has followed the original plan with the long-term goal of creating a stable platform where we at set milestone meet the requirements of the customers by building customer specific demos. This way of working were we very early had a complete system running has been very important to understand the limitations and challenges we need to solve to reach the end goal of the product.
