Purpose and goal
The overall aim of the project was to support the learning and the development of knowledge about the organization of innovative and complex practices in health care, more specifically hybrid operating rooms where diagnosis and treatment can take place simultaneously and several medical specialties work together. The project goal was to provide process support in the ongoing development and facilitate the dissemination and wider implementation of the emerging practice.
Expected results and effects
The project has contributed to knowledge about the development of the methods, procedures and approaches that integrate new technologies and medical practices, as well as knowledge about how this is implemented safely. In addition, the project has helped to develop knowledge about the organizational and physical integration in the implementation of new technical systems.
Planned approach and implementation
The study was conducted at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. During a period of two years we have, through ethnographic methods, followed the work of the staff and suppliers of technologies to develop a new practice in the hybrid room. We have continuously stimulated reflection on the problems and prospects of this development through seminars, reflection meetings and workshops.
