Purpose and goal

The goal of the project was to develop a common due assistance package due for those who want to publish and/or use open data for the school sector. Project goal has been to make available a number of data sources as linked open data. The aim has been to contribute to the increased use of open data in the school sector, and to increase the pace of school digitizing. This by creating opportunities for those who want to take advantage of open school details as due commodity due to new services and promote the use of common standards.

Results and expected effects

The project has resulted in a number of supporting functions and sources of data made available through the project´s website (http://www.lodis.se/) which is intended for those who want to publish and/or use open data for the school sector. Here are case studies, examples/prototyping, data sources, advice/best practice, as well as tips on tools and platforms for linked open data. This is expected to lead to an increased use of open data within the school sector. The site is meant to be a meeting place for linked open data for the school sector.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented as a project within the framework of the SIS TK450. Members of TK450 has contributed resources in terms of time and interest, as far as possible. This has meant that the work has been carried out with a strong focus on school activities. This has also affected the choice of data sources and the prototypes designed to exemplify the use of linked open data. The site/meeting place designed to disseminate the project´s results will live on and continue to develop even after the project.
