Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to establish and develop an innovation environment for the offshore sector, where OffshoreVäst acts as a node. This work has begun and follows in all essential respects the plan where cooperation with various clusters and cooperation organizations, nationally and internationally, has been and will be an important part of the ongoing process. Set goals regarding the feasibility studies / pre-project and how these resulted in increased knowledge and new external projects have been surpassed

Results and expected effects

We have created an innovation environment where OffshoreVäst acting as a node. Within this platform, there are different types of cooperation on the basis of both thematic and geographical focus. 20 pre-projects / feasibility studies has been delivered. 17 external project applications have been initiated with about 65% success rate. The external projects have resulted in ca 25 million SEK in project funding to the participating organizations. More organizations have joined the consortium and strategic partnerships have been established for the future process.

Approach and implementation

OffshoreVäst has been organized in five work packages and included the offshore segment in both the oil & gas and renewable energy. The width was a strategic decision that has been good. Renewable energy and the process towards increased development in ocean energy and offshore wind power has been strengthened, not least due to the oil price pressure. A number of strategic activities and projects identified in the early stages have been operated. This has been successful and has given considerable commitment from consortium members.
