Purpose and goal

The aim of this project was to develop ideas about how a norm-creative process can be incorporated within the framework of regular planning and working processes. The composition and meetings of the reference group have contributed to a broader and in-depth understanding of standards that rule urban planning processes as well as generated ideas for tools and processes that may include more.

Expected results and effects

The project has resulted in in-depth knowledge of norm creativity as a method of achieving more inclusive cities and communities. It has also given us strategies and tools to take small steps towards our goals, equality, in our everyday professional lives. In addition, the project has already received attention and curiosity within the project partners organizations and their clients and collaboration partners.

Planned approach and implementation

The project group has completed three workshops where we have studied the subject of norm-creative urban planning. The focus of the workshops has been the processes that rule different urban planning actors. We have shared with each other´s background knowledge, experiences and good examples. We have analyzed, explored and put words on different norms and gate keepers that hinder equal and inclusive environments. We have analyzed opportunities and strategies to round these gate keepers in order to create inclusive cities and communities.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
