Purpose and goal
The project goal is to develop a wireless non-invasive system for monitoring blood gas and respiration. The proposed medical device system will maximize market penetration for Novosense´s already developed ECG monitoring system. Providing a complete monitoring system has been identified as important for breaking existing market barriers.
Expected results and effects
Novosense, together with a Norwegian partner, Novelda, has developed a new type of wireless sensor system for monitoring blood gas and respiration. The next step for the product is clinical trial and then launched internationally with start in Scandinavia. The end consumer is primarily intensive care units.
Planned approach and implementation
Two companies, Novelda AS, Norway and Novosense AB, Sweden, have collaborated to develop a new medicine device product. Novelda has developed a miniature UWB radar sensor for non-invasive monitoring of respiration. Novosense has developed a wireless blood gas sensor as well as the integration of the wireless sensors into the monitoring system.
