Important results from the project
The project´s goal was to form a strong consortium in order to meet the challenge of developing next generation´s testing systems, and to further define a project that covers various aspects of this. An initially broad grouping has now been bolstered by a number of new partners, and the combined expertise is unique in the world. Through meetings and workshops, various aspects of the challenge have been discussed thoroughly and work package division has been adjusted compared with the initial application to better meet the requirements of end-users on different markets.
Expected long term effects
A multidisciplinary consortium with partners from the public sector, academia, institutes and companies have been formed, which has further developed the project idea and applied for phase 2. Competitive awareness has been performed and specifications on the new testing systems have been set up to make them attractive on a global market. A project organization has been worked out, with steering group, reference group, project management and work packages. The project will lead to more efficient product development, cost savings and growth of industry.
Approach and implementation
The goals set up for the initialization phase have been met and an application for phase 2 is submitted The set-up with division into work packages by areas of interest and joint workshops was efficient and successful. The workshops were much appreciated and fruitful, with a thorough review of the work packages´ needs in various fields, of demands on new testing systems and of state-of-the-art. All participants contributed with their expertise in discussions of possible project outcome. This has been the basis for the project design. Management and collaboration has worked very well.
