Important results from the project

Development of washable absorbent underwear, which can be reused at least 100 times. A sustainable alternative to disposable hygiene products, which are disposed after use. This project has had 3 sub-goals. A) Sustainable textile materials, as well as sustainable production of underwear. B) Panties intended for period care. C) A hybrid product between reusable underwear and a disposable booster for handling urine

Expected long term effects

The project has i.a. in collaboration with Chalmers technical university college, Borås Tekniska university college, as well as 2 groups with consumers, developed absorbent washable underwear for menstruation and larger amounts of urine. We have taken both products to TRL level 6, which means tests in the laboratory and consumer test. The results indicate that we can move on with both the pant for menstrual absorption and underwear that combines reusable with disposable, to future levels of TRL. Also to start building communication, sales channels, etc for a future launch.

Approach and implementation

Contacts with / lectures by, among others, Borås INC/Science Park Borås led us into what sustainability means for Wundies In cooperation with universities we developed a period care pant that was verified in lab test and validated in user test. We developed a hybride between a booster ”to achieve higher absorption and reusable underwear. It was verified in laboratories and validated in consumer tests
