Network for deployment and uptake of transport efficiency research

Reference number
Coordinator LINDHOLMEN SCIENCE PARK AKTIEBOLAG - CLOSER
Funding from Vinnova SEK 200 000
Project duration December 2015 - September 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the network project has been to study how to strengthen the knowledge exchange between research environments and industry/society, through meetings such as workshops and meetings in connection to courses for PhD students. This has been done through dialogue with existing networks (LENS and RESCOPE) as well as dialogue with researchers within the CLOSER partnership. A network event has been arranged. Additionally, researchers and research environments connected to transport efficiency in Sweden has been mapped in order to identify knowledge and expertise.

Expected results and effects

The result of the study is an evaluation of how a research network could contribute to disseminate research results, and how networks can be further developed. The result of the pre-study shows that a continuation of the network through permanent meetings with different thematic purposes, could be very valuable for young researchers specifically, since they have very little possibility for networking outside their current projects. But, it would also be valuable from industry/society perspectives through sharing challenges and giving a better understanding of research results.

Planned approach and implementation

Within the project, there have been dialogues with the existing networks LENS and RESCOPE to discuss prerequisites and cooperation (which also has been carried out), an initial mapping of researchers within the area of transport efficiency at Swedish universities, as well as a network event carried out for young researchers and senior representatives from industry, society and academia. This has been a very good process and the results will be incorporated in an application for funding of further development and uptake of this network initiative.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
