Purpose and goal

The objective of the project was to elaborate cross-border collaborations with industry, academia and other research institutions when the innovation challanges of different actors coincide, and a strategic research and innovation agenda (SIO) and consitututes a plan for the development and reneval of the Swedish heavy vehicles industry. The SIO-programme is based on the period of 2013-2016, and the main innovation areas to be covered are: - Energy efficiency -Telematics and Robotics - Product development - Ergonomics

Results and expected effects

The project has resulted in a strategic agenda for players who have a common need for knowledge and innovation in the application of technology: - Energy efficiency -Telematics and Robotics - Product development - Ergonomics The strategic research and innovation agenda underlying a concretized strategic innovation programs and the project will lead to the participants in the R & D platform helps to develop and renew a Swedish industrial area of heavy vehicles and field machinery.

Approach and implementation

The association Tunga Fordon, part of SP Sveriges Tekniska forskningsinstitut, have managed the SFI-project, conducted in conjunction with Svenskt Hybridfordonscentrum, Skogstekniska klustret i Vindeln, Robotdalen och Swesurf. The project have incvolved a large number of interviews and workshops with co-operating partners and other stakeholder during the period September 2012 until January 2013.
