Purpose and goal

The purpose of MyParcel project has been to create a solution where all shippers, regardless of size, can connect and agents and recipients can consider it as a solution irrespective of who the shipper is. The goal of MyParcel solution is to reduce the environmental impact, better and easier notification and return of packages. For agents, there will be one and the same process meant the shipper. For supply the owner, making it easier returns and the shippers will be able to reduce the cost. The project has delivered several modules that in a longer perspective able to change behavior.

Results and expected effects

As the project has delivered modules for MyParcel but not whole system yet it is difficult to measure the effects now. The whole system will probably be accomplished, but only in a longer perspective, when market participants are ready. This takes longer than what the project had originally assumed. It is difficult to evaluate the effects MyParcel-system gives because only modules have been delivered. To ensure that MyParcel will be future proof, we made an analysis in support of all parties to early identify future requirements.

Approach and implementation

The plan was that one or a few shippers would join MyParcel and thus take the solution to market. During implementation, it was concluded that the prospective operators (shippers) was not ready for this step. Instead of developing MyParcel as a whole system, it was decided to develop modules that are part of the solution. These modules have been taken to the market for different customers and therefore field-tested; ´proven in battle´.
