Purpose and goal
The aim is to meet the needs of knowledge, expertise and collaboration in Swedish companies to become world leaders in service innovation. In this way, sustainable jobs will be created and new knowledge and research will be developed. Priorities, areas and actions needed are clarified to make Sweden an attractive for service innovation. Companies can thus become world leaders in developing high value offers in close collaboration with academia. This in turn will bring companies to establish their service innovation departments, service excellence centers, in Sweden.
Results and expected effects
The process has brought a number of opportunities and challenges for service innovation among Swedish companies on the table. As a result, an action plan has been proposed including measures and concrete actions to meet the identified needs. Thanks to the work of preparing the agenda, a large number of new collaborations has been established e.g a stronger engagement from the academia and institutes and cooperation with other agendas and SIO programmes. Relevant agendas and SIO programs have been identified and an initial survey of research related to service development has started.
Approach and implementation
The content has been developed in collaboration with a reference group as well as a strategy group consisting of Teknikföretagens´ and Almega´s member companies, the academia, research institutes and other relevant organisations. The reference group met on three occasions and strategy group twice and a number of companies have been interviewed about their work with service innovation. Almega and Teknikföretagen have in recent years developed a number of reports on the importance of service innovation and a relatively comprehensive business intelligence complements the work.
