Supporting the utilization of research from Universities, by validating ideas with potential for generating goods / services that contribute to sustainable growth and social benefits.
Expected long term effects
Chalmers Innovation Office is responsible for "Validering för Tillämpning" (VFT) at Chalmers University of Technology. Through agreements, support to 5 University partners is also provided. During 2012-2017, over 100 projects, of more than 200 completed projects, have moved forward in the innovation system (to incubators, secured innovation funding, companies created, collaboration projects with industry or commercialized through other means). The majority of ongoing projects show great potential.
Approach and implementation
In order to further increase the number of attractive cases to incubators, we will focus on creating a clearer combined value offer from Chalmers innovation system, broaden our input of ideas, clarify our packaging and delivery process, and promote a learning organization. These steps have been identified through customer satisfaction questionnaires, dialogue with idea providers, incubators, Institutions and Chalmers management. We have actively strived to identify and cancel early projects with little potential.
