Reference number
Coordinator Stockholms universitet holding AB - SU INNOVATION
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 900 000
Project duration August 2016 - September 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to get an initial verification of the technology generated in research. It’s been done by identifying customers, increased our understanding of their needs, as well as what needs to be done to meet these needs. What remains to be done is to verify how to adapt to the customers revenue streams. This goal was in our initial plan, but remains to be investigated outside of the project since the customer prioritized improvements in the service itself.

Expected results and effects

The Liveling system has been verified to meet the goals of the customer in terms of synchronization, image and audio quality as well as in terms of the user interaction design. It provides robust “lip synchronization” which allows multicamera use in broadcasting e.g. interviews. It has an image and audio broadcast quality that meets expectation of our customer´s customer (720p). It also has a user interface that allows untrained personnel to use the mixer.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was conducted in four steps that were verifying different aspects of the system. The way we worked in these steps was logical and highly beneficial for us. However, administrative leaps in between the steps were challenging which required us to improvise and take risks. In sum, the project’s focus on customer verification pushed us to integrate user demands in this research prototype and make priorities that have greatly improved the product.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
