Purpose and goal

The purpose and the goal has been achieved in the formal sense but our ambition was to go further and also create vocabularies and a more detailed method section. Considering our limited preunderstanding and the gap that exists between academic papers on semantic tagging and uncommented RDF/XML files and the detailed W3C specifications , we had a too big ambitions. However, we are pleased that we have been able to deliver concrete results and at the same time gained more skills and experience of Linked Open Data.

Results and expected effects

Datasets are described according to the DCAT AP-specification, and we have described the air quality data as Linked Open Data in RDF/XML format. We will continue to strive to always create descriptions according to the DCAT AP-specification for additional data sets . We are happy to participate in work on vocabularies center for public activities but this work should probably be led by the state , perhaps by SCB.

Approach and implementation

We have made valuable lessons on how to create Linked Open Data and how you can practically work eith LOD. We have gained insight into the complexity surrounding the choice of vocabularies and the creation of new vocabularies. The lack of methodological support and best practices is on the right concretization level has been a surprize. The development of a proper methodology support is much more difficult than we thought and requires a project with far greater resources than we had. A recommendation about which vocabularies public actors to use in the first place would have been a great help

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
