Project duration August 2014 - August 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

This project was initiated to target aspects within medical imaging informatics in order to achieve improved effectiveness within health care. Further, this project aimed to evolve a strategic collaboration between Sectra and a US health care and research institution, University Hospitals Cleveland (UH). A number of research projects have been conducted and have resulted in both publications and actual productivity improvements. Further research collaborations between Sectra and UH are to commence as the current project ends.

Expected results and effects

Besides the short term results in terms of publications and productivity improvements for the host organization, these projects have resulted in an increased service offer from Sectra. Further, the experiences gained from some of the projects will provide input to additional research and development efforts in the near future at Sectra. The experiences gained by the project manager through this project translates to significantly elevated possibilities to qualify for future leading positions and research funding.

Planned approach and implementation

The research projects were conducted with the project manager located at the host organization throughout the entire project time. Supervision and support were provided by two senior radiologists and researchers at the host organization and by the research director at Sectra. In collaboration with these three, all projects were planned and ensured to be of value for all involved parties. The projects were independently conducted by the project manager, who on occasion also involved personnel from Sectra and/or UH for specific tasks.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
