Purpose and goal

The project strengthens an ongoing initiative where Universities and Industry are given access to jointly nationally developed Academy programs within Industry 4.0. The project has given a clear outcome in increasing the industry´s opportunities to utilize higher education in a new and hot area of technology. Also, the the quality of the practical laborative education for industry and Academia has been increased. The project results have been practically tested and actively contributes to the further development of forms for Academy-industry education and "life-long learning".

Expected results and effects

As a clear results, the project has developed a learning platform and methodology for conducting Academy educations for Industry in a new way with collaborating higher education institutions. At the same time, unique lab equipment have been made available mobile and virtually for academia and industry on a common basis. The effects within 1-2 years will be the creation of new industrial educations based in the Academy and in 3-5 years, the maturity and knowledge in Swedish industry within Industry 4.0 will have increased with newly trained and professional Engineers.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been carried out in collaboration between the Production Academy´s (PA) 13 higher education institutions, mainly on site in Halmstad (HH). The organizing the two work packages linked to the development of a learning platform (WP2), industrial adaptation of Academy educations and pilot testing with 7 companies via a working group from PA and three industrial companies with 22 participants (WP3). The development of a mobile lab platform and an inventory of and the connection of university labs (WP4) was made in co-op between HH and LiU with feedback from PA.
