Mapping of INFRA Test Sites

Purpose and goal

The overall aim was to support testing and demonstration of Swedish transport infrastructure by identifying existing conditions. The goal was to create an overall picture of available test facilities in the transport infrastructure field in Sweden. Instead of analysing every test site for its current use and untapped potential in transport infrastructure, the project has focused on a number of themes where there is a potential for testing of new solutions. The report demonstrates the current available facilities and opportunities for increased demonstration of new solutions.

Results and expected effects

The project contributes to an increased knowledge of testing and demonstration opportunities in transport infrastructure. It shows the facilities available for that purpose today, and the opportunities we see ahead.

Approach and implementation

The study was mainly conducted through internet searches and interviews with persons well informed about the challenges associated with test and demonstration of new solutions related to transport infrastructure. In addition, the authors also have used a reference group to get valuable input and validate the results.
