Venture Challenge-driven innovation - Phase 2 Collaboration

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to construct a greenhouse in the ’miljonprogram’ area Holma and to develop a concept for the establish- and management, in dialogue with the residents. The project had the following goals: 1.Construct and furnish the greenhouse 2.Develop a concept for managing it 3.Develop a communication strategy for the establishment 4.Disseminate knowledge about the project to external operators 6.Implement and evaluate innovative farming technique

Expected results and effects

The project resulted in a greenhouse, which has provided a venue for the residents to acquaintance each other and exchange experiences and knowledge. It has also enabled residents to; farm in an extended part of the year, test innovative farming techniques and increase their farming skills. The effects of the project is an established venue at Holma and a higher number of involved residents which contributes to a more safe, pleasant and attractive ’miljonprogram’ area.

Planned approach and implementation

Resident involvement: The arranged ’farming gatherings’ twice a week contributed to the establishment of the greenhouse and farming knowledge. The majority of the participants were children, which resulted in that the farming consultant had to ’babysit’ and that many adult choosed not to participate. To separate the gatherings into children and adults were therefor beneficial and abled us to engage a group of adult residents that have potential to manage the greenhouse after the project.
