Funding from Vinnova SEK 150 000
Project duration August 2017 - January 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

This literature study aims to perform a review with focus on industrial demand, to summarize the progress of technologies in graphene modified polymeric composites. The targeted review contents: influence of processing techniques on the structure and properties of resulting composites, the global leading graphene producers and their products, the multi-scale modeling of resulting composites, have been well covered.

Expected results and effects

This literature study performed a review to summarize the progress of developing graphene modified polymeric composites. The focuses of review include: the most concerned structural characteristics influencing properties of the modified composites and how to characterize, where and how to find appropriate graphene based products, processing techniques to incorporate graphene into composites, and structure-property modeling of the resulting composites. This review is expected to be used to guide and initiate practical research and innovation projects.

Planned approach and implementation

This literature study is funded to review the progress of graphene modified polymeric composites which have attracted significantly increased interest in academia and industry but are still far from being practically used in industry. SICOMP with extensive experience and strong competence for (nano)composites processing, characterization and simulation performed this literature study. The focuses on the processing, characterization and simulation of graphene modified polymer composites and the global leading graphene producers and their products, were well reviewed.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
