Purpose and goal

Learning and competence driven product introductionIncreasing frequancy of product introductions places great demands on manufacturing companies´ abilities to ensure and utilize competence. The objective of the project KNOP is to contribute with knowledge about how workplaces close to production may in the long-term develop competences and competence carrying relations that support efficient product introduction. The project aims at developing learning, working methods, co-operation, and management that strengthen innovation capability and collective competence development related to product introductions.

Results and expected effects

The project is expected to result in more efficient product introductions in terms of increased quantitative and qualitative goal fulfilment as well as workplaces close to production that are characterized by innovative learning and well utilized competences, which contributes to desired goals for effects.

Approach and implementation

The chosen interactive methodology implies a close co-operation between the researchers and the involved companies. The methodology is based on an action-learning methodology, i.e. a method oriented towards problem solving and striking out new paths in practice. The methodology is based on four components:: i) survey/diagnosis, ii) feedback of results, iii) participation in development and iv) follow-up/evaluation.
