Project duration January 2018 - December 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project has been to create increased conditions and increase motivation for women to work within the growing competence area of ICT. Through a number of activities and educational initiatives, the project has contributed to raising the issue to a larger group in society than before and reached completely new target groups that participated in the educational activities.

Expected results and effects

The women who participated in the project´s activities have shown qualities and experiences that had not been expected at the start of the project. On the one hand, the women who have participated have been considerably more academically accredited and the majority have at the same time been professionals and seen the project´s training efforts as a chance to test programming. Without the project, this had not been possible to test for the target group.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been run on several tracks. The first thing that was created was a network for younger girls to meet role models and try on programming in the collaboration with Realgymnasiet, Gävledala E-sportförening and Escape gaming to try programming. A network of educational actors in the region was created for the development of new types of education and also one with business actors for the inventory of needs and contact with future employers in the ICT field.
