Purpose and goal

Purpose of the project “IT for better learning” was to establish a testing environment for internal and external digital innovation that could lead the way towards the school of the future. A large number of dialogues with external innovators and entrepreneurs have led to about 15-20 conducted or ongoing tests. A significant number of internal innovations in methods or use of tools have been supported and promoted. We have gained many insights, laying the foundation for our ongoing work to foster, support and test digital innovation in our organisation.

Expected results and effects

The effects of the project are Feedback provided to more than 50 external innovators and entrepreneurs, leading to about 15-20 projects. One company is partly financed by AcadeMedia and two discussions ongoing. Internal digital innovations promoted and supported Digital innovation has become one of our top priorities The work continues through our new strategy for digitalisation. A significant number of tests and joint development projects initiated that will run over the coming years.

Planned approach and implementation

The project’s integration in the overall digitalisation effort is a key success factor. Follow-up is more difficult, but the effect is that over 500 leaders have mobilised while pilot tests and external innovators are now central themes in our strategy and plans. Financing (and more specifically “sales” in order to prove the innovation´s ability to drive revenues) is a bigger challenge for the entrepreneurs than access to testing environment. Another insight is that acadmic researcher involvement requires both a concentrated effort and significant lead times to materialize.
