Call IoT for innovative social benefits and a better life for everyone in a connected world

Purpose and goal

Through the development of smart assistive devices with IoT information, opportunities are seen to more easily e.g. in relation to MDR, follow up and measure different values such as the use / utilization rate of an aid for an individual, which can provide possibilities to predict costs, maintain quality, contribute to re-use and maybe discover wrong and dangerous usage. Collected data and knowledge probably contribute to the development of new aids. IoT can provide a horizontal ability to access data that requires clear and anchored strategies in the organization.

Expected results and effects

The study clearly shows that IoT can add great value and effects in virtually all areas. IoT works horizontal and can provide great opportunities for automation and resource savings, not least personnel and material. It is important to think big and start small, and initially establish and anchor both collaboration and information strategies applied to the hole organization and its collaboration partners. Prevent locally and individual IoT/information platforms solutions, that create separated amounts of information points, distributed management as well as competence needs.

Planned approach and implementation

A study around IoT for innovative societal benefits and a better life in an interconnected world. Focus on IoT as an enabler in general and for assistive devices specifically. Looking at legal requirements around assistive device, but also through dialogue meetings and interviews around the challenges that exist in everyday life, both for the responsible care providers as the patients. Conducted business and market intelligence, trade fair visits, theoretical technical studies, analysis of necessary conditions when establishing a IoT solution and witch business model to prefer.
