Purpose and goal

IoT provide fundamentally new opportunities to create new and better services, products, processes and environments. We can build intelligence into terminals and machines of all kinds. This provides more efficient and in many cases more user-friendly and desirable features, services and products in all industries, such as: industrial, commercial, transportation, entertainment. It is absolutely crucial for the future that Sweden takes a leading role in the development of this technology based on our strengths and that we use technology in all industries.

Results and expected effects

The project has created an agenda with high quality and relevance to the field of IoT. The agenda is accepted as a good plan for IoT at the seminar ´National Agenda Internet of Things (IoT) April 10, 2013´ http://www.iva.se/IVA-seminarier/Nationell-agenda-Internet-of-Things-IoT An organization, IoT Sweden, is necessary to realize the agenda according to the the plan. IoT Sverige is a network of universities, institutes and industrial companies. Administrative organization will be placed on a center at Luleå University of LTU

Approach and implementation

1. Sweden needs to increase its industry efficiency so she has the resources required to develop and maintain our prosperity as a nation. 2. IoT applications will be an important part in developing the society. 3. Both public and business funders will focus on innovations in the IoT. 4. Products and services within the IoT will be exposed to global competition. 5. Consumer products will be a key driver for the development of the IoT, 6. End users must be involved. Everything can be develop, but what will be used?
