Purpose and goal
The project intends to investigate how the "noobed material" from Fureho could be used in a component of a coupling/fitting structure aimed for aerospace applications, what mechanical characteristics are achieved as well as a cost estimate of coupling/fitting component made from "noobed material".
Expected results and effects
The project strengthens Fureo´s knowledge of applications and requirements in the aerospace industry as well as create a relationship with a potential customer. It will increase customers understanding of Fureho´s "noobmed material". RISE SICOMP it will develop skills in the field of 3-D fiber reinforced composites, which will benefit several Swedish companies operating in this area. Also, being able to use lightweight materials for this type of applications will contribution to increased sustainability, as transportation becomes lighter and thus reduces energy consumption.
Planned approach and implementation
RISE SICOMP will conduct an optimization of the coupling component limited to one of Fureho´s most common “noobed material” architectures and based on a predefined load case, obtained from a customer. The results will be applied by Fureho to design a "noobed material" architecture for the coupling component and make a cost analysis/estimate based on the "noobed material" design.
